For those of you who don't know...we are homeschooling Brooklyn this year. For the past year we have been doing some school, but we officially started on Monday. Her friend Katie, who is 3, is joining us twice a month for preschool. Brooke and Katie were so excited to do school- they did a good job. I was a bit nervous myself, but we are getting into the swing of things. Brooke likes to learn and enjoys school time. She is our quality time girl and enjoys the one-on-one time with mom.:) I never thought I would homeschool but it has been quite fun. I got organized the other day and started planning for the next three months. We are working on language arts, math, and spanish until December.
Brooke is quite the little actress, she can imitate actors faces really well and perform a musical number with confidence and flair ("Annie" and "Hairspray" are two of her favorites). Lately, she has enjoyed interprative dancing to Josh Groban's music. Oh how this takes me back to my days of singing and dancing in the living room with my sisters, using the light on the piano for our spotlight!
We are praising God that the maintenance position at camp has been filled. The couple they hired, Mike and Cindy, are wonderful people and have been uplifting to us especially. Cindy teaches piano and is going to start giving Brooke some informal lessons on Mondays.
Kale is almost two and is starting to put two words together at a time. He now has a "big boy" haircut and has started saying, "No, mine!" I don't know why, but for some reason I thought he would just avoid that phrase. Twice a month he goes to my friend, Christy's, for his own play/school time with her one year old, John, they sing, color, and play together.
Banner is growing so fast! He will be 3 months this month and is about 14 pounds. He is sleeping through the night, praise God (around nine hours each night)! Why do I still feel tired?
Adam had a blast playing on the men's church softball team this summer. He was quite the playmaker....and they won their league too. He has started helping out with youth group at church on Wednesdays. He is enjoying getting to know the other staff/volunteers and youth. We are starting to get to know more people at church and get more involved as we can. I will start participating in Ladies Bible Study in a few weeks.
We are so looking forward to our December trip to Michigan, we are counting down the days.
