Restoration

I Peter 5:10 "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To Him be the dominion forever and ever Amen."
At church Pastor Raj is teaching on I Peter...what a powerful little book of the Bible. God has been using numerous verses and principles from I Peter to instruct, correct, and exhort us. God led Adam to I Peter 5:10 a few weeks ago...it has served as a great source of encouragement for us. We are seeing His faithfulness and are being restored and uplifted- Praise God! We are slowly, but surely, building relationships with some couples at church and it is starting to feel much more like home there. We are enjoying having more neighbors on camp- it is starting to feel like community. I am learning to often set my agenda aside for the day and really be "in the moment" and enjoy my children much more; trying to experience the wonders of the world from their eyes.
A few months ago five gals and I had a girls' night and sent and saw "Mamma Mia", it was so much fun to just laugh and be silly and carefree. I often take life way too seriously. My wonderful hubby often reminds me to sit back and relax. I so thankful that he is laid back, adventurous, and fun! We were just talking the other day how we are glad we are not too rigid when it comes to childrearing (our kids might think otherwise) but we really are having quite a bit of fun being parents. Sure it is the hardest job I have ever had, and I cry about the challenges involved with it sometimes, but it is such a blessing too. I don't want to look back and regret rushing the time while our kids were young, or being a grouchy mama. So today, "carpe diem", I will not assume I have a zilliom more days on earth, I will live this one to the fullest (that will be easier to do today too, since it is my birthday)! I will bite me tongue when I want to be negative, I will smile when the tiredness tries to overtake my body, and I will laugh out loud even if I sound like a snorting pig (which will be easy since we are finishing disc 2 of "The Office" season 4 today).
I will sign off in the words of the great Michael Scott, "Take bat bites seriously; don't get bit.":)

Happy Birthday to my dear CMU roomie!! I really enjoy reading your blog. Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs. It is also the most fulfilling at the same time. I'll take your wise words about living in the moment and remember them as I walk through my day with my boys. I also take life too seriously. Eric often has to remind me to relax and have fun too! Thanks for your words of wisdom.

happy Birthday a couple days late. I loved reading your blog. It was great for me to read today, since it is my birthday, and I'm freaking out about the big 3-0. Also I think this is what causing the most problems for Ben and me. I do need live in the moment and not worry so much. Your family is beautiful. Take care!
Love, Jessi

Hello friends:-)
I'm pretty far away from birthday greetings.
But, I sent pictures, I hope you got them!
Tell Brooke thanks for the ones she sent- I love it! I have a huge picture of her (the one with her and the dog) in my living room. Pretty much, she's the center of attention;-)
Love you all!
