Carrying Peace

Right before I had Banner I felt the need to process my 3rd pregnancy (and reflect on what I had experienced and learned)...as most of you know God took me on quite the journey. After I wrote the following poem I read it to Adam and told him I felt like I could have the baby now...two days later Banner was born.

Carrying Peace
Fears forced to the surface like carbonated bubbles...begging to be released from exerted, external pressure.
Anxiety only relieved momentarily- then reuniting again with dark, languid waters.
Worries riding on the back of a proud, swollen shell...strength and confidence pretending to steer, but to no avail.
Coerced to wait, waning silently, apprehension near- uncertain as to why this fallacy is often present.
Unexpected circumstances ushering in change...a sleepless confrontation with the strangling beast; fear.
A cry for release, needing assurance and help from above. Finally, tearing off the mask, reaching the end of myself.
Heart truly exposed, weak, vulnerable, needy, and scared. Senses on alert, hope tarrying in the still, somber night.
Movement felt, small at first...jubilant dance achieved. Petition heard, pleading answered with surpassing wonder.
Majesty overshadowing my insufficiency. Peace permeating and saturating the fabric from within...mind at rest, body relaxing, heart full of hopeful prose.
Surprised, yet relieved at the freedom readily given. Continued journey ahead, yet, groundwork laid strong.
Carrying peace, holding tight to its hand midst the roaring tide..learning to waltz with the ebb and flow of like; softened, soothed.

Hey Katie! Thanks for the comment. We are actually living back in Chesapeake. Texas just wasn't for us. we really missed our family and the church here. We are also considering a church plant in northern Va, seans cousin, Eric, is probably going to be leading that plant in the next couple of years, so we are praying about it. Your kids are so cute!
